Ma Jun

Ma Jun is currently the director and founder of the Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs, a non-profit environmental research organization committed to promoting transparency around pollution issues in China. Mr Ma started his career as an investigative journalist specializing on environmental subjects, before becoming an environmental consultant and joining the Yale Fellows Program, where he conducted comparative studies of environmental governance in the United States and China. He was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award (2009) for transformative leadership, the Goldman Environmental Prize (2012), as well as the Skoll Award (2015) for entrepreneurship.
